Default GvG (pvp) Ranger/Elementist Build

Hello, Ive been playing Guild Wars for quite some time now and im now more interested in GvG or PvP. For GvG, I need some tips on my characters build. My guild wants me to be the runner for the flag, and the person who would slow down/distract other enemies. This includes players such as elementists and monks. So far, ive got

barbed trap
pin down
distracting shot
apply poison
lightning reflexes
dodge
whirling defense
serpents fury (i don't know why i put that there)

My point build

expertise: 12
markmanship: 12
wilderness survival: 4
beast mastery: 1

basically im a pure ranger. So can anybody give me any tips or changes for this build? All the help is appreciated. Thank you.

You just mixed in a bunch of skills for no purpose. You need to have a set goal: trapper? primary damage with some support anti-caster? etc etc

lightning reflexes
dodge
whirling defense

are all crappy skills though so take them out no matter what.

if you want to use a bow use tigers fury. must-have skill.

Expertise needs to be 14 if you're using more than 1 10 energy skill.

If you are the runner, take 2 sprint skills and one of them should do some dodging. You will be running most of the time, your damage output will be bad, but it is supposed to be.

You should take a self heal and a crippling remove skill, because most of the time you will be outside the healing range.

Traps are useless if you can't take the time to place them right. One trap doesn't hurt that much, so you better take none with you.

Take 2 slowdown skills, to 1) slow down the enemy flag carrier and 2) to slow down an enemy that is chasing you.

Now you have 2 slots left. One could be a res signet and the other is up to you (but apply poison could fit)

This is not a perfect or good build, it all depends what yur team needs. For us, it fits well, for your team it may be just crap.

I always have my pvp rangers bring these 3 skills debilitating pin down and distracting. Unless your speced for damage these are a MUST for any ranger that wants to pvp IMO

Ok my goal is to support my allies. For instance, my guild is always complaining about the air eles lightning. And it does get annoying. They want me to take it out, like disable it. Im there to stop and slow down others and skills/spells. So thats why I have distracting shot and pin down. But I want to know if there are any other combinations.
